I hope you will enjoy reading my new book Girlfriend! Who You Tellin. I wrote this book with Love, Joy, Inspiration, a funny bone and had the most of fun putting it all together for your reading pleasure. This book is written for unisex readers. Every now and then we all need a laugh to cheer us up and keep us happy. The reason I say old school laughter is back in business, because I grew up laughing at some of the past and present most famous funniest people to have embrace this beautiful earth such as Lucille Ball, Flip Wilson aka Geraldine, Carol Burnette, Harvey Korman, Mel Brooks, Rodney Dangerfield, Johnny Carson, Bernie Mac, Tyler Perry aka Madea, Richard Pryor, Milton Berle, Don Rickles, Tim Conway, Redd Fox, Bill Cosby, The Three Stooges, Tina Fey, Whoopi Goldberg, Jay Leno, Damon Wayans, Don Knotts, Sherman Hemsley, J. Anthony Brown, Ed O'Neill aka Al Bundy just to scratch the surface. They all must have attended the comical University of Absolute Nuts! (Laughs:) and I have loved and love them all. So there you have some insight to my influential comical roots of my writers pencil to compose this book and with my own touch of humor on top of it all. In the current time I would say that Tyler Perry is one of my inspiring role models for his style and presence to just keep coming from all ends with such wonderful production works. The titled Girlfriend! Who You Tellin came from hearing women abroad and at first hand my own loving mother who would be on the telephone gossiping away saying in reply to the other female listener "girlfriend! who you tellin". I just went with it from there and thought hey, why not? and the idea theme just grew.
In my path of life I had the pleasure to meet two of the most beautiful persons, Susan L. Taylor former first lady of Essence magazine and the love Doctor Ms. Iyanla Vanzant whom inspired me to write after I read their wonder written works. I was a volunteer writer for an in-house newspaper at the JFK Kennedy Center for the performing art in Washington, D.C. and met many wonderful people who just motivated me with writer kudos. One woman author ask me if I had went to school for writing. I responded and mention that I had only English literature in college but was an avid book reader. She told me that she had eight books out on the market, but when she read my written work, she commented that I was a gifted writer and that formal school training would probably interfere with my natural gift to write. Wow! what an inspiration, and it was just shortly afterwards I started writing Girlfriend! Who You Tellin. That's only part of my huge Testimony. I'm forever grateful to the blessings, I hope that Tyler Perry will read this book and cheer me proudly. Take time out to Love, Live, Read and Laugh! It will only make your life brighter.
